Lois, I am not sure my Kearney's ever lived in Mineral County. The Mineral County connection that led us this far in the discussion came from my guess that my Michael Kearney was the Michael Carney in Jack Sanders' book. The response from the National Archives when I sent for his pension file was that they didn't have my Michael (different wives and death dates) and the one they had died in Piedmont, WV. Some of my Kearneys lived in Westernport, MD at some time. My grandfather, Michael Patrick Kearney, married for the second time Margaret McKone in Westernport in 1885. His father and mother, Michael and Ellen Cosgrove Kearney appear to have lived in Mount Savage since immigration until Michael's death in 1877. Ellen then appears to have moved to Cumberland to live with her eldest daughter, Anna McHugh. They lived at 20 S. Lee Street there (at least that is one address). Ellen died there in 1898. On the McKone side of my ancestry, however, they lived for a time in Cumberland (1860), then Westernport (1870) and Piedmont, WV (1880 and later). -- Barbara Williamson [email protected] Researching KEARNEY (CARNEY) 1850 IRL>MD MCKONE (MCKEON, MCKEONE, MCKEOWN) 1850 IRL>PA>MD>WV CLARKE 1848 IRL>MD>WV COSGROVE 1850 IRL>MD BROD 1840 GER>MO PETERS NY>CA>MO>TN Volunteer of Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness at http://www.rootsweb.com/~tnraogk/index.htm Member of the Immigrant Ships Transcribers Guild http://istg.rootsweb.com
