I have some Nelson family in that area. I don't know if they are relatives of yours or not. My aunt, Lelia Decker married Billy Ray Nelson. He still lives on Rt 46, the road going to Ft Ashby but it's a Keyser addy. They named one of their children Karen Nelson. She lives in Great Cacapon, WV. If you think they ight be related let me know and I'll contact Karen and find out what she knows. Sincerely Susan R. Its actually *Jennings Randolph Dam or Lake *and like you say, at first it was call *Bloomington Dam*. My uncle William Lawrence and his brother Ed Lawrence helped installing the spillways. I believe it is out of print. There may be some around that people would sell used. But they are hard to find. Would Randolph Jennings Dam & the Bloomington Dam be the same? For some reason I marked Shaw and Jenny Springs as being the same place on my topographical map. Where I marked it looks like it would be under Bloomington Lake. Sam Charles W. Harvey wrote: > Pat, you are right. when I was a kid I played ball at Shaw. I have a copy of this book, there were only so many made and I got in on the tail of it, I was really lucky to find it back then. I contacted the court house in Keyser a couple of years ago to see it they were going to make any more copies or a book #2. They said they haven't heard of another book or anymore copies . Most everything in the book is now on line in Mineral Co rootsweb. But, if you have something you can't find on line and would like for me to look up something for you, please feel free to ask me. My email address is _Cricketcrafts@aol.com_ (mailto:Cricketcrafts@aol.com) . My maiden name was Jean Lee Barrick, George and Edna (Foreman) Barrick were my parents. I'm the baby of 4 children. Please let me know if I can help you in anyway. Always Cricket
The only Addison mentioned is a Jacob Addison. Ron
Does anyone know if this book is available for purchase? Pat
This book is in the Keyser Library and I believe in the Burlington library. Pat, I think that when the water is low at the lake that some of the foundations can still be seen. An Uncle told us that the houses were still standing when the built the lake. The book Ghost towns of the Upper Potamac have an article on Shaw WV. The Garrett Co Genealogical society did have those books. The library in Oakland might have a copy of the book also.
