Just a short note - I used the look-up volunteers in the Mineral County, WV, website for the first time today. Wish I had used it earlier. Many thanks to MICHELLE STAGGS for her assistance. She located the date of death and burial place of my gggrandfather Peter E. Hartman that I had been trying to find for years plus the graves of two of his sons, John T. and Charles W. Hartman. I found the new owners of funeral home (which had changed hands since my gggrandfather's burial in 1917) that interred my gggrandfather and they kindly looked him up and gave me more info, solidifying that this is indeed him. Michelle, I cannot thank you enough and I want the other Rootsweb folks to know what a fine service you provided to me. John Hartman

Todays Pittsburgh paper has a story on George Washington that tells of his life and a coming exhibit. The history of it tell of George in 1753 making his first trip into western Pa. in the company of Christopher Gist a surveyor and expert frontiersman as a guide Crossing the Allegheny Mountains on Nemacolin's Path that Gist and Thomas Cresap had blased the previous year.. As I know that some of you are researching the men in the artical I thought I would pass this along.

I would bet that both the public library in Keyser, WV, and Potomac State College library in Keyser would have it. If you live near Keyser, you might try either of these. If not, see if you can borrow it through your local public library on an Inter-library Loan. If that's not possible you might try Main Street Books in Keyser, WV. The Peter Miller attendant was an adult in 1891 when the marriage took place at Springfield. The marriage was bet. Mary Susan Windle and John F. Butler. I should have been more specific. Some of the descendants of the John William Bobo line married intothe Hines and McNemar families, and some persons of these names are buried at Knobley Brethern Cementary.
