    3. Rootsweb.com Then go to USArchives and Search State by State files if you are searching anyone in 1700's up they have a wealth of information. I use the data base search engine to research a certain area like "Tulpehocken, P" and then go down the list. I found ancestors, dates, names of Churches, tax lists and a lot of history. ----- Original Message ----- From: "A.J.Mom" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, September 21, 2000 11:50 PM Subject: [WVMINERA] Computer carshed > > Hello Everyone, > > Today my computer crashed and I lost everything....My family tree and all. > > All my genealogy sites..I am just sick about all this. It was well worth the couple hundred it cost to recover my years worth of unsaved family info. (long story). As well as all the other stuff on the hard drive. I got it all back! 3. To add to what Bill wrote, the little road to the cemetery is just to the right of the Springfield Post Office which is on the left from the Romney direction. My paternal g-grandparents are buried there. I discovered them there two years ago after driving past there many times over the years, not even knowing the cemetery was there, let alone my g-grandparents for whom I had searched in Va. many years earlier. 3. I should have guessed 101 would be a good place to start. Is this stuff addicting or what? Since I got back from WVA I have been on a roll. It's like finally figuring out who you are. Weird thought at 47! Yikes.... :) ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, September 21, 2000 3:10 PM Subject: Re: [WVMINERA] Genealogy 101 > Hum !!! maybe I should do that too. hehehehe > >

    3. Me Again (I know Dr Bess, I must have filled your inbox by now hee hee hee) Just a reminder that the Burlington Apple Harvest Festival will be held the week-end of Sept 30 to Oct 1. I'll post the activities when they appear in the paper. :) Patti Maybe some of you could come and see "Lonny's trees" for yourself (PS If you think Lonny's descriptions of the scenery is great, you should read some of her letters to the editor. Wow!)

    3. Mary, The BP Station, is known around these parts as the Van Myra. Steve and Lena own and operate the gas station/store and restaurant. They're "good people" work very hard and long hours. I printed off your letter and took it to Steve today. It really brightened up his day :) Patti At 08:18 PM 9/20/00 -0400, you wrote: >Hello List, > My husband and I just returned from a two-day West Virginia trip which >included primarily Keyser, New Creek, Burlington & Petersburg (where I was >born) looking up information on my Likens/Likins ancestors. > This was our very first genealogy expedition and were unsure about >beginning our journey, so we asked a lot of questions along the way. > At the court house in Keyser we met Anita Johnson who was kind enough to >make copies of several birth and death certificates (a whopping' $1.50 each >mind you!), and she showed us where and how to look up our family.
