Notes for JOSEPH CARL WRIGHT: Wright, Joseph Carl PRINCETON - Joseph Carl Wright, 85, of 105 Mahood Avenue in Princeton, died Monday, June 2, 2008 at the Westwood Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Bluefield, Va. Born January 29, 1923 in Rock, he was the son of the late William Joseph and Mary Alice Syres Wright. He was a retired Engineer and Contract Mine Supervisor at Consolidation Coal Company with thirty-six years service. He was a member of the Burke Memorial Baptist Church in Princeton. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in World War II receiving the European Theater Ribbon, Pacific Theater Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Ribbon, and Victory Medal. In addition to his parents, one sister, Dorothy Hubbard; one brother, Blaine Wright and one infant sister preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife of sixty-two years, Elizabeth Jane Broyles Wright of Princeton; two daughters, Mary Lellen Dishner and husband Oscar, and Anna Lee Bolton and husband Gale all of Princeton; three grandchildren, Anthon! y Ray Dishner, Robin Lee Bolton and Elizabeth Gail Mills and husband Okey; four great-grandchildren, Allegra Dishner, Matthew Dillow, Jarred Mills and Abigail Mills; and one sister, Elizabeth Martin of Princeton. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 5, 2008 at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Butch Honaker officiating. Born Oct. 3, 1926, in Matoaka, he was the son of the late William J. and Mary Alice Syres Wright. He was a retired custodian with the Mercer Co School System last working at Matoaka. Born in Rock, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Mary Alice Syres Wright. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, her husband, James C. Hubbard; and one brother, Blaine Wright preceded her in death. Survivors include one son, David "Rusty" Hubbard and wife Joy of Princeton; two grandsons, A.J.
