Andrew Powhatan Gadd was born Sept. 26, 1828, a son of James William Gadd (born Sept. 25, 1828, in Franklin County, Va., and died March 30, 1906, in Mercer County, W.Va.) and his wife Rhoda Thornton. Andrew's wife Delilah Ferguson was born around Feb. 23, 1831, in Bedford Co., Va., (Source: 1999 e-mail) a daughter of Jesse Ferguson and his wife Elizabeth Hatcher. The birth-date on her tombstone appears to be March 31, 1829. Andrew and Delilah married on Feb. 25, 1851. Delilah died in 1903. Andrew died on March 20, 1909. I am looking for photos of Andrew and Delilah and their descendents. What I have is on my site. I am also sharing and seeking photos of the Vest/Via/Cochran family of Summers and Raleigh counties and the Smith family of Abraham in Raleigh County. In addition, if you have West Virginia words and sayings unique to the area, I would like to add them to my collection. You can read what I have on the W.Va. sayings page on the site.
