Good evening, Does anyone know of the following book, and from whom the submissions were obtained? The History of West Virginia, Old and New Published 1923, The American Historical Society, Inc. Chicago and New York I have recently seen two (2) biographies containing information on two (2) of my ancestors. In both cases the information was at least suspect and in one case the genealogy is at odds with proven research. Both of these bios were uploaded to a Rootsweb archive. NOTE: I find no fault with the submitter(s) or the archivist(s). But I would be willing to bet that the bios were written by an overly zealous descendant, or that the bios were embelleshed by an inventive editor. It does not surprise me that the style of writing is the same in each biography. The subjects of these two biographies were not related, but their grandchildren married, making the subjects of the biographies my gggg grandfathers. Now, back to the original question: does anyone know of this book and its reputation? Does anyone know if the biographies were submissions on the part of descendants? Thank you, Bill Hobbs
