I have a Lucy W. Moten that was born abut 1878 in Giles Co, VA. She died in WVA do to childbirth, according to another source. The child lived and was called Kermit. She was married to W. (Will) Ratliff on May 9, 1894 in Summers County,WVA, son of J. Ratliff and Delilah Could this been related back to the Ratliff families in Mercer County? The Motens were in Mercer County in the 1880. Although Samuel and John Wesley Moten as they become of age settled in to Summers County and many of the girls married in Summers County. WVA.
