Jon There were two cemeteries that were moved in that area. One was the Harmon Cemetery and another one down from it that was listed as unnamed, slaves. This would make since if they were across from the Plantation that you listed. The Harman Cemetery had 29 graves. The only problem is that only 12 graves had markers. These graves were buried from 1902 to 1944. The rest were listed as unknown. When moved they would have been marked with a marker with a number, since there was no name. That way the government could keep track of them. The slave cemetery were all unknowns. There were 21 in that cemetery to be moved. Since they were buried in 1860 and 1880, could some of the relatives have them moved before the Government came in and moved the graves? Sandy Moten Cocoa, Florida I will check my Summers County Cemetery book when I get home this evening to see if they are listed somewhere else. > -----Original Message----- > From: [email protected] [SMTP:[email protected]] > Sent: Tuesday, January 25, 2000 12:19 PM > To: [email protected] > Subject: Re: [WVMERCER] Bluestone Reservoir Project CemeterRelo fact > > Sandy, > > I believe (and several other researchers have suggested) that Gatliff's > Bottom did become Crumps Bottom, but I can't say for sure.
