I have had a real hard time with the Dillion line. They moved around so much. I have gotten most of what I have from other researchers and am trying to verify it. I have run into trouble finding sources. I made one fellow mad when I asked where he found a piece of information. I'm more than willing to share what I have with anyone interested. I come from the Mastin Dillion line and here is what I have on him: MASTIN DILLION born about 1807 Mercer Co., VA/WV died UNKNOWN married MARGARET NEELY 19 Sep 1831 location unknown 1840 census of Russell Co, VA 1850 census of Russell Co, VA: Mastin 48 b. Mercer Co, VA Margaret 35 b. not listed James H. 16 b. Mercer Co, VA Martha 12 b. Russell Co, VA William N 9 b. Russell Co, VA Parris 7 b. Russell Co, VA Rebecca 4 b. Russell Co, VA Elizabeth 1 b. Russell Co, VA 1860 census of McDowell Co, VA/WV Mastin Margaret Rebecca 14 Elizabeth 12 Rachel 9 Margaret 2 My biggest problem at the moment is the wife of Parris Dillion. Most of what I have seen from other researchers lists her name as MARGARET BELCHER. The 1860 McDowell County, VA/WV census lists: Dillion, Parris 18 Dillion, Margaret 23 Belskey, Jesse 66 may be Belcher Belskey, Elizabeth 70 may be Belcher The death certificate for Parris's daughter, Sarah Elizabeth, lists her mother as SARAH BELCHER. Is this a mistake in the death certificate? Could her name have been Sarah Margaret??? I welcome any suggestion on how to solve this problem. Thanks, Cathy PS: Sarah Elizabeth Dillion married John Alfred Racer. They were my great grandparents.
