    3. Wayne if your familiar with the McComas area the graveyard sits on a mountain top across the road in front of the old Pinnacle Elementary School (which is now a church). Traveling from the school heading towards Matoaka its the first dirt road that turns off to the left. You follow this road up the mountainside (American Coal Company - Pinnacle Mine had tram tracks around the mountainside many years ago - they were torn out probably in the 1950s). I've heard tales of burials taking place at the Harmon Cemetary in bad weather with the casket being taken up to the graveyard using a mine trolley on the tram track. There are several families still living in the area. I also see where someone pointed you into the area of Linda Akers - she visited the gravesite last fall and is planning a cleanup this spring sometime. She can give you more detailed directions as to where it sits on this hillside area. The Jones and Thompson familes had/still have homes in the general area. Linda Akers website has a picture of my grandfather Andrew Spicer along with his brothers and sisters taken at the Harmon graveyard on this website. I'd estimate the picture was taken in the 1920/30s timeframe. http://www.angelfire.com/wv/akers/hdirect.html I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Linda Akers for her assistance helping me with my Spicer genology - she's a great wealth of information. We have discovered we share kinship through hers and my Harmon grandparents. Keep up the good work Linda - the web has made genology searching such a great experience and its people like Linda and all the other great contributors to the Mercer County and other Genology websites that make it so pleasurable. Kudos also to our Mercer County Web Managers - you provide a great service.
