I just purchased Central Point School on Dan Hale Reservoir Road, which is old route 20 near Glenwood Park. I think my grandfather Paton Asbury Smith had something to do with the building of the school and probably taught there. It was a school from 1923-1983. In the MCHB Vol-1 page 41 Listed are the schools and the only one listed for Dunns is Piney Flat School, a one-room structure and was last taught by Eve Moye Ellison. Dates not given. Hi Janice, I don't have a copy of the Mercer marriage book, but the name rang a bell, because I have an old snapshot taken in Mercer County said (by the sender of the photo) to show Ida B. Hearn with several of the children she helped raise. It was said she was the daughter of George Setser Lee and Julia Stewart. A birth date for Ida would be about 1869. June/Glenn, We have a very nice visitors center at the crossroads of I-77 and 460 in Princeton They have a few books on different people in the area. And at the Princeton times which is on Thorn street in Princeton they have a few books written by Bill Archer some have things about the folks in the area. And Also they have a young man working there that writes articles for the paper his name is Jeff Harvey he lives in the Athens area.
