The law is that land owners can NOT prevent family members and researchers from visiting cemeteries, even on private property. They can impose some restrictions, such as "only during daylight hours" or "no alcohol". We recently went through some trouble with visiting my brother's grave in Greenbrier County. The owner I had to deal with was having problems with teenagers going back into the cemetery to drink and party. The cemetery is on top of a mountain and there are cliffs at the far end....he was concerned about someone getting hurt or doing damage to the cemetery (understandable). If you are having trouble, try giving him 2 or 3 days advance notice before your visit. It might help if you would volunteer to help mow the cemetery or do some general clean-up around the cemetery. If volunteering is not possible, maybe a couple dollars toward his gas for the mower would help "mellow" him. If that doesn't help, try a pair of bolt cutters for the gate and a lawyer to contact the owner. Cathy No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. Hello List, Need any information on O. K. Harris. He was Station Agent at the Cooper Railroad Station at Coopers, WV. Coopers now has a Bramwell, WV mailing address. He worked there in the 1930's and maybe 1920's and 1940's. He was middle aged at the time. If someone can find him in the 1930 Census it would help to know any relatives living with him. I have a photo of a gentleman standing in front of the station and believe it may be him. I want to use the photo in a book but cannot get a positive ID on him. Finding a relative would probably do it. Thanks Diz Harris P. S...he is no connection to my Harris people.

Pennington (b: 1798) and Sarah Sally (b: 1820) with children: Reily, William, Milam, Harrison, Nelson, Sarah J., Sarah E. and Rebecca? I am trying to unscramble the 1850 census, District 39 1/2, Monroe, VA; 1860 census, Peterstown, Monroe, WV; and 1870 census, Red Sulphur Spring, Monroe, WV. Listed in the 1850 census as living with Wm and Sarah Pennington is Polly Pennington, age 30. Who is she - too old to be child of Wm and Sarah unless she is his child from an earlier marriage. Also, Rebecca I. (or J.) Pennington, age 6, is listed after Polly's name. Polly's child or Wm and Sarah's child? In the 1860 census, Rebecca Polly (surname) is age 16. How is she now a Polly rather than Pennington? Also in household is Mary M. Polly, age 15, and Allan Polly age 8. Whose children are these? Was the Polly (age 30) a surname rather than a first name in the 1850 census. 1870 census, Red Sulphur Spring, Monroe, WV shows Allen G. Polly, age 18, living in household of William J. and Sally Penington. Living next door is Wm J. Penington and Nancy. This is William J. and Sarah's son. Living in that household is Mary A. Polly. What is the relationship of Polly family to the Pennington family? Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Lonnie McLondon (born circa Oct 1996 - died December 1966) married Virginia Marie Townley (born 7 June 1913; the year is in question - die circa 1949)in the mid 30's?? They had at least 4 children: Jr. Tanner (he died due to drinking and driving) Ray Tanner Georgia Tanner later renamed Barbara and Nora Mae Tanner. After Lonnie and Virginia divorced, she gave away her children to whoever would take them. Eventually Virginia tracked down her son Ray and sent him to her sisters (I think) or maybe her brother to live. Virginia went to Ohio sometime in the late 40's where she was killed by a drunk driver while waiting at the bus stop. She was 36 years old. Lonnie moved to Princeton but I don't know the time frame. Lonnie froze to death in his front yard in December of 1966 after returning home from a local bar. I have searched various records looking for my grandparents but it is as if they never existed. Ok! great. I only met Norma's husband, Gary, once in 1968 when my grandmother died. Within a few years we heard he was dead of cancer. Norma, same age as me, would have been in her late 20s, perhaps he was a little order but not much. Maybe 3 years or so. I remember Norma telling me that most of his family had died young than normal, all from different types of cancer and the family thought it was the results of mining over the years. Good luck.
