Thank you, Lee. My Robert Stewart s/o William Stewart Jr. was from Franklin Co., VA originally and settled in what became Mercer Co. ca. 1820s or before. There is no connection with the Ralph Stewart clan. The Elias you mention was not part of my family to my knowledge. I have hit brick walls in looking for marriage data on Robert and Mary as well as Elias and Rececca married ca. 1843 in Mercer probably. Thank you for checking. Hello - I would be very happy to locate the graves of my ggg grandparents Robert and Mary (Giles) Stewart. They lived four miles south of the Princeton courthouse. I believe they died during the Civil War. They are on the 1860 census but none thereafter. Their son Elias, my gg grandather and his wife Rebecca Belcher Stewart moved to Boone Co. sometime in the 1860s. Robert and Mary Stewart were not with them. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Rick Stewart

Hi Alicia, We were wondering if you can do another cemetery hop for us? We are looking for William A. Miller and wife Bessie Rayburn McCann. William b: ? d: ? Bessie b: 7 Dec 1894 d: 25 Jul 1981. They were married : 14 Sep 1921 They lived in Bramwell, Mercer Co., W.Va. Bessie was a nurse at St. Lukes Hospital. So it's a hunch they may be buried at Woodlawn. How's "Kevin the Koala"? We hope he's not finding his new home, too cold! Lorraine & Kevin McCann Adelaide, South Australia.
Hope this isn't a repeat..but received the other back stating undeliverable. Mr Sands, I do remember the post and thought I did send a reply. However, I will be more than glad to look up Mabe for you but you need to be more specific. I can not just go get a list for all the Mabes in Woodlawn., but if you would like to send me a particular family you are looking for I would be more than glad to help you. Alicia Brown

It has been my understanding that the Mercer Co. courthouse was burned during the Civil War. The link below lists destroyed courthouses and does not mention Mercer Co. Would any of you all be able to clarify this point? Scroll down for the courthouse info. Thank you. Rick Stewart http://mywestvirginiagenealogy.com/index.htm

Hello - A large group of Sizemores went to Clay Co., now WV from NC to avoid the removal. They have begun to celebrate their Cherokee roots now. They were written up in the Charleston Gazette some time ago.
