    3. Sandy, I thought I had gotten this from you or Fran Daniels about two years ago when you were both so active on the Meador List. You've studied this so diligently, and I will defer to you on these Meador/Meadows lines. 1. Re: [WVMERCER] Tazewel>Mercer?
    2. Hi Nancy Clay & Sandy Moten, The question isn't a dumb one. We kept loosing the families working back & figured they didn't just drop out of the sky. Then we realized [by someones suggestion that was in genealogy longer than we were] to find out what county or counties that county was made from. I think we've chased the Perdues, Dillions, Pruntys, etc. across most of the counties in VA. It depends on what part of Mercer Co. they were in. Mercer became a county in 1837 & was made from Giles & Tazewell. Giles was formed in 1806 from Montgomery, Monroe, & Tazewell. Tazewell was formed 1800 from Wythe & Russell. And it goes on. We finally made a note book of the states we work with, when the counties were formed & from what county/counties. Life got a little simpler. Hope this helps. 2. Sandy, In your Meador findings have you ran upon any mention of Elizabeth Meador daughter of Josiah & Judith Lilly Meador. She was born Sept. 15,1788 died March 2,1838 marreid John Cooper Oct. 26,1813 in Giles, CO. I'm interested in any mentions of this family They were mygrx4 grandparents. John seem to have appeared out of nowhere. Also, any deeds, letters, I'm curious about the Meadors and Coopers where they came from and who they were. I have chapter 6 of the Southern branch of the Lilly's so I know some of where they all were. The Meadors seem to be close beside the Lilly's. My Lilly line runs into itself at Elizabeth. My great grandmother was Mariah Elizabeth Lilly Cooper she was the granddaughter of Robert Lilly and Elizabeth Payne. I have a brick wall any reference that you would have would be appreciated. 3. Linda John Martin and Mary Keatley is as far back As I have been able to take the Martin Family. John Martin - Susanna Waggoner My greatgrandmother was Sarah Louisa Rachel Martin, who married John Alexander Gore. She died and was buried in Alamagordo, New Mexico on Dec 26, 1915 on her and John Alexander Gore homestead behind there home. Now whether the graves still exist to be found I don't know. (My mother had a brother that was stillborn and is buried out their homestead and I have no idea if his gravesite still exist anymore or not, or if it was move like the ones at Lilly, West Virginia was) I have a picture of their house. John eventually moved back to West Virginia and lived out his life with his son Silas Gore, who lived in Beckley. They went west with their daughter Ella Lea Gore, my grandmother and Louden Gilbert Lilly (my grandfather)who also went out west to homestead. They left West Virginia in 1905. John Alexander was living with my grandfather in the 1920 census. My grandparents returned in 1927 to live for a while down up a little ways from the Little Bluestone River. Later left that farm and moved up into Pipestem to a larger farm, where he died of the Flu at the Hinton Hospital on Feb 22, 1963. My grandmother Ella lived there with him almost to her last, when she was transfer to the Bluefield Santarian, in Bluefield, West Virginia. She died in 9 Aug 1960. John Alexander Gore, if I remember right died in the 1960, will have to look at notes. Both my grandmother and grandfather was born in Mercer County, WVA - Ella was born at Island Creek and Louden Gilbert Lilly was born at Camp Creek, WVA My grandfather parents were Capt Jonthan Lilly and Ruhama Gore (the sister to John Alexander Gore). Thank you for the information on the Flanning, Had very little on them. Any information would be appreciated. Sandy Moten Cocoa, Florida

Well, I'm short. Mom always said Amanda was her favorite granny, and that she could stand under the arm of her son, my grandfather. Yesterday my very young nieces came over and I heard a sound like china banging, the little one was touching my birds! I told her those were very old, and that they belonged to my great granny, who was her g-g granny. I think I liked them when I was 4 too, I always told Mom when she died I wanted the birds. When we got home from the funeral my sister went and got the birds and handed them to me. They are very special. Sandy in Florida

    3. Do you know the name of the parent of the McComas and where they married. Shirley Lilly married Robert Swinney Mccomas in Beckley, WVA. They live at Hinton, West Virginia. His father was Randolph McComas and his mother was Margaret McGee (McGhee), They lived at Hinton, West Virginia as well. But I need to check at the courthouse to see their parents name and where they were born. They used to be people at Hinton that remember his parents, but I have not been back to Hinton to talk to anyone to find out any leads. All I can find out from mom is that the McComas moved to Hinton, for the railroad work.
