    2. DAVID R. CATHELL
    3. I would like to find more information about Frank Meadows, if anyone can help me. I have been checking all of the Meadows information hoping to see his name or those of my cousins. Frank Meadows was married to my Aunt Lena Thornton (born 12/10/1905). He died sometime in the 1930s. They had 3 children who where raised by their Grandmother Meadows. Their names were Ola, Bernard and Earl Meadows. I'd like to know what became of my cousins. I would think they would be in their 60's or 70's now. I know that Frank is buried in an unmarked grave in the family cemetery above the Thornton Homestead near the Old Airport Road (formerly known as Edison Hollow). I was trying to make a record of the people buried in the family cemetery. I don't have any more information concerning Frank or this branch of the family. Donna Thornton Cathell - [email protected]

    1. [WVMERCER] Henry Gore Jr & Jane Thompson
    2. Below is the story I promised about Henry Gore and Jane Thompson. Please remember that this has not been substantiated. The poor old vice-president is having enough trouble trying to be president without us adding to his problems. Henry Gore Jr. was married to Susanna Sweeney. He had a passle of kids by Susanna. At the same time he was having kids by Susanna he was making trips next door to see his neighbor Jane Thompson. He had a passle of kids by Jane Thompson at the same time he was having kids by Susanna. Henry decided to move so he bought a house and some land for his family. Not wanting to leave Jane and her kids behind, he had two of his older sons by Susanna building a house on his land for Jane and her kids. The boys, not liking Jane very much, decided to get rid of Jane by dropping a log on her from the house they were building. Someway the plan became known and the two sons got scared and decided to move to Tennessee to live with Susanna's brother. The story goes that Susanna became ill and ole Henry decided to move a slave into the house to take care of Susanna. He must have decided the slave could take over all his duties because the story goes that he had a child or children by the slave. That must have been the last straw for Susanna because she packed up belongings and children and moved to Tennessee to be with her brother and two older sons. That, according to the story is how Vice-President Al Gore came from Tennessee. After Susanna's death ole Henry finally decided to make an honest woman of Jane Thompson and married her. Henry and Jane are my 3rd great-grandparents. REMEMBER, THIS STORY HAS NOT BEEN SUBSTANTIATED AND NO KINSHIP TO AL GORE HAS BEEN PROVEN
