I went in person to the McDowell County where my grandfather was born. The courthouse there said they don't have them. I'm unable to document both my grandfather Abe Peters b.1898, and his father, Luther Peters, born 1870. Right on the back of my mothers birth certificate it states her father was born in Mohawk WV (McDowell CO.) I was able to obtain any death records for the two at the Charleston WV Archives.
