Hello, I am a new subscriber and would like to know if you have any information on any ALIFF'S. Thank you, Toni
Don't know if anyone out there is researching the Rowe's or not, but Geneva Steele of Rockridge just shared some really wonderful information with me and I thought I would share it with y'll... Jacob H Rowe born 8 Jan 1833 in Giles County Va and died 11 April 1911 in McDowell Co, WV served on the side of the north during the Civil War in the 39th Kentcuky Regiment Co D. Geneva recently spoke to a distant cousin who thought they knew where Jacob was burried... Well, Geneva just got back from the gravesite and BINGO, it was our Jacob H Rowe. This means that we can now petition to have a veteran tombstone for him. In case some of you don't know who or how Jacob H Rowe is related to McDowell Co, here is a brief summary: He and his wife Tabitha Sweeney came from Pike Co after the Civil War and settled in Beartown. Jacob was the grandfather of CS Rowe (Charles Shelvin) who married Pearl Victoria Jewell. CS's parents were George W. and Sytha Davis Rowe. Just wanted to share in mine and Geneva's joy and congratulate her for a job well done. Heather Rowe pearlvjuel@aol.com
