Hi everyone, I have William Mayes (or George William Mayes) b. abt 1855 who married Ellen Jane Lavender on 18 Mar 1886 in Mason Co. Following census records, the family lived in Mason county, then moved to Brooke county before 1910. Jane is found to be a widow in Columbiana Co., Ohio by 1920. The names of a few of their children are Henry D., Levie Jane, Harrison, Goldie, Floyd (or Boyd). Does anyone know who William or George William is the son of? Hi Ronnie, I have a George W. Mayes b. Feb 24, 1856 son of Charles William Mayes b. 1824 and Elizabeth Jane Mayes (true maiden name) b. 1830 d. Mar 27, 1911. I also have a William George Mayes b. Mar 23, 1856 and is the son of James Naylor Maze and Elizabeth Jane Maze (not sure if this is her maiden name or married name) I have no wife listed for either of these men.
