The West Virginia Marriage Records has a Joseph R. Hughs marriage to Mary E. Lee on 8 November 1876 in Mason County, West Virginia. In the 1880 Census they were living in Waggoner, Mason County. Joseph is 26 (but his age was in parenthesis, why, I don't know). Born in Virginia Mary E. is 22. They have children: Andrew S.E. age 2 Joseph W. 9/12. We are looking for a connection to this family to an Annie Hughes. Her Social Security Administration documents indicate her parents were Joseph Hughes and Mary E. Lee. Annie was born circa June (possible August), 1883, (possibly in Camden, WV). The 1900 census for Mason County has Anna Hughes, born August 1883, living with a Nancy Lee. There is a Phelix Hughes also in the household, born Oct 1881. They are listed as Grand Daughter and Grand Son of Nancy. They are living with Phelix Lee, probably the son of Nancy. The 1880 census shows Nancy and her son "Felix" in Robinson, Mason County, So the Felix born in Oct 1881 could be a brother or family member to Anna. Anna Hughes married David Hudson on November 26, 1903 in Mason County. What happened to Joseph Hughes and Mary E. Lee. IF Annie was born to them in Camden, Lewis County, she returned to Mason County to the Lee Family. I can not find Joseph, Mary, or their children as identified in the 1880 census.
