In June 1836 Catherine Thornton Lemaster and her brother, John Thornton, donated land to the Methodist Episcopal Church in Point Pleasant. Their land had previously belonged to their father, George Thornton, who had died in 1807. Does anyone know if this church still exists, or is it now one of the United Methodist Churches in Point Pleasant? If the church still is active, has anyone checked to see if they have any family information for George, his wife Mary, or his children? Any information would be helpful. Thanks, John White
