Wamsley Ezra M. Wamsley, Jr., 72 of McMinnville, TN went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 26, 2009 at his residence following a long illness. Born in Mason County, West Virginia, Ezra had lived in Port Clinton, Ohio for several years before moving to McMinnville in 1999. He was retired from Hood's where he worked as a machine operator. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ezra Wamsley, Sr. and Velma Logan Wamsley; brother, Charles Wamsley. Ezra is survived by his wife of 53 years, Edna Simpson Wamsley of the home; daughters, Shilia Hale and husband Danny of McMinnville and Dorsie Peterson and Gary McMurray of Port Clinton, OH; sons, Norman Wamsley and wife Cheryl of McMinnville and Rocky Wamsley and wife Karen of Hixon, TN; grandchildren, Stephanie Stone and husband Jeremy, Daniele Wamsley, Regina Long and husband Keith, Rachael Moore and husband Charles, Rocky Wamsley, Jr. and Dana, Brandon Hale and wife Denali, Bethany Cooper and husband Derrick, Jonathon Peterson and wife Krista and William Peterson, Jr.; 14 great-grandchildren ; sisters, Nora Lofton and husband Stewart of Port Clinton, OH, Greetis Lawley of Pell City, AL and Edna Doctor of Oak Harbor, OH; brothers, John Wamsley and wife Peggy, Henry Wamsley and wife Linda, Gary Wamsley and wife Terry all of Port Clinton, OH and Danny Wamsley and wife Debbie of Oak Harbor, OH; and JoAnne Wamsley of Rogersville, along with several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 9-11 a.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at Van Hill Freewill Baptist Church (Beech Creek Road) Rogersville. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Pastor Danny Hale officiating. Music will be provided by the Jackson Family. Burial will follow in the Williamson Cemetery. Pallbearers will be the grandchildren and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Church of God, C/O Danny Hale, 4350 Shellsford Road, McMinnville, TN 37110.
