Lynn, By state law, passed 15 Mar 1861, all marriage licenses were required to show the following information: 1. Time of Marriage 2. Place of Marriage 3. Full Names of Parties Married 4. Age of Husband 5. Age of Wife 6. Condition of Husband (widowed or single) 7. Condition of Wife (widowed or single) 8. Place of Husband's Birth 9. Place of Wife's Birth 10. Place of Husband's Residence 11. Place of Wife's Residence 12. Names of Husband's Parents 13. Names of Wife's Parents 14. Occupation of Husband Order a photocopy of Oscar & Josie's marriage license from the Mason County Clerk's office at Pt. Pleasant, WV. It will give you the above listed information. I believe a copy will cost you $2.00. Be sure to send a M.O., not a personal check. They will wait 1-2 weeks for a check to clear, before they send you anything--most courthouses are like that. Also send a SASE, and be sure to THANK THEM, THANK THEM, THANK THEM!!! It paves the way for the next genealogist who pesters their limited staff for that elusive tidbit needed. Good luck, and Happy Hunting! Julie [email protected] wrote: > > Trying to find the Jordanâs from West Virginia. > > Oscar Jordan b. 1887 Putnam Co. d. 1979 Kanawha Co. > m.
