I just wanted to let everyone know that although Dale is trying to be helpful in posting the marriages for Mason County, WV there is only one complete "accurate" work covering all the marriages up to 1915. Further it is the only book used by the Mason County Clerks office at Point Pleasant WV. It was done by Julie Chapin Hesson and is called "Mason County, West Virginia Marriages, 1806 to 1915". Julie spent many hours, days, and months checking the record books which was not an easy job. If anyone should be given praise and thanks for their time and effort it should be Julie. She undertook a most difficult task and did an exemplary job in producing the most accurate information possible. Further she has made it available for a reasonable cost. It has been reprinted twice and each time it sells out. Lastly, she has very generously allowed the book to be used as a source for free marriage lookups for the West Virginia Gen Web page and often answers queries from the WV Mason Co mailing list herself.
