Hello list... I wonder if someone would be able to clear up some confusion I'm having with Joseph Mayes who married Nancy Ellen Hawthorne, 02 May 1875 in Mason Co. I had recorded him as being the child of John Mayes and Julia Eads (married 1847 in Gallia Co., Ohio). Joseph's death certificate though says his parents were John Mayes and Julia White. Is Julia Eads and Julia White the same person or are we dealing with a completely different family? Thanks, Ronni

Hello, My husband is a direct descendant of Joseph Mayes and Nancy Hawthorne but I too have the name listed as Julia Ann White Eades/Julian. I do not know if White is her maiden name or Eades is, or if she was married before. John Hall Mayes and Julia were married on 15 Jan 1847 in Gallia Co., Ohio. They have 9 children one being Joseph Mayes married to Nancy Ellen Hawthorne them being my husbands great grandparents. Joseph and Nancy married 02 May 1875 in Mason Co., WV.
