    3. Now I am really confused. I have Julia as being born in 1828, but you are telling me she is 20 in the 1860 census record. I don't see how that is possible since she married him in 1847. Lugene Flores <lugenef@msn.com> wrote: Hi Ronni, I am also a Mayes descendant. I also see that you are researching Nibert. That is my maiden name. Please contact me. But to get to why I am responding: John MAYSE located in 1860 Green Twp, Gallia Co, Oh census. Household 81-81 John 40, Julia 20, Benjamin 12, Joseph 8, Nicholas 6, Marg. 5, Elizabeth 3, Emma 10/12 Did not find in 1870 as of yet. I have nothing on Census Reports for 1860 & 1870. I have the death certificate of Joseph Mayes (1852-1919) son of John Hall and Julia and it states that Julia's maiden name was White. But I also have the Marriage Records of Gallia County, Ohio 1803-1850 listing John Hall Mayes married to Julian Eades on 1-14-1847 so I guess more research needs to be done on the Eades and White name. You stated you don't have much information but I wasn't clear on who you were speaking of. Martha Jane and Samuel? Let me know I have quite a bit. Joan jacksonriver@gmail.com wrote: Hi Joan... I think we've conversed before on our Mayes line. Good to run into you again. > is, or if she was married before. John Hall Mayes and Julia were > married on 15 Jan 1847 in Gallia Co., Ohio. I have quite a bit on both the Mayes lines and > Hawthorne lines. I haven't been able to locate John Hall Mayes and family in the 1860 or 1870 census records. Their son, Joseph Jefferson Mayes, was born in 1852, so presumably he would have been living with them during that time and thus help with concluding Julia Eades and Julia White are the same person. Have you located them in that time frame? BTW, John H. Mayes is not my direct line. My line runs through his sister, Martha Jane and her husband Samuel Mayes (which I have very little info on).
