I think that Graham station was (big surprise) named after the Graham family, who were from Athens OH. Gabriel Graham and his son Ranselier Graham lived near there. I think one or the other was the postmaster. Ernie, Graham Station is in Mason County. My grandmother Mary May Scholl was born there. Go to findagrave.com and search Graham Cemetery they have 93 burials recorded there. It is the same cemetery, I believe. Hope this helps. Shirley the very first thing I would do is subscribe under the new address. You can do that by sending a post to: WVMason-request@rootsweb.com and make sure you place this one single word in both your subject line as well as in the body of your message : SUBSCRIBE After you confirmed it by typing in your name in the message you get back from RootsWeb, send a message to me, as the Mason List Administrator and ask me to remove that older one which you cannot use anymore. It is all real simple, if you look at it that way. Should you still have access to the older address, send a message into the RootsWeb computers: WVMason-request@rootsweb.com and make sure this one single word is in both your subject line as well as the message body UNSUBSCRIBE But if you have already lost that access, submit a subscription and then let me know what the older address is. I just sent the following msg to the Cabell County list and thought I should try the Mason County list, too! My gg-grandfather, Thomas Christy, is still my brick wall. He was born c 1830 (place unknown) and m. Jemima Hughes in 1851 in Gallia Co. OH. Jemima Hughes is the d/o John Hughes and Elizabeth Ott, both born c 1777 in PA but who are thought to have died in Mason Co. WV. Thomas is believed to have died in December 1, 1893 and his wife, Jemima, died June 28, 1890 -both in Huntington. I have searched the online indexes for Cabell County cemeteries and have had no luck. Thomas & Jemima Christy had 3 sons: my g-grandfather, James Wm. Christy, Sr. (b. 1858 - 1901?), Jerome (1853 -1935) and Jefferson Christy (b. 1862). Jerome Christy and his wife Susan are also buried in Cabell County, WV. James Wm.Christy, Sr. m. Priscilla Frances (aka "Fannie" and aka "Permelia") Bush in 1878 in Galliapolis, OH. They raised at least 5 children to adulthood in Huntington, WV. Priscilla Bush Christy is the d/o Richard Bush and Mary Ann Eads who both died in 1874 in Mason Co. WV. Any information regarding these surnames would be very welcome. Thanks in advance, Mary Cervantes Grand-daughter of James Wm. Christy, Jr.
