    3. If my count is correct, there are 180 cemeteries listed in Violette Machir's "Mason County, WV, Cemetery Inscriptions," Vol. 5; unfortunately, a McCallister-Needham Cemetery isn't one of them. Perhaps it is listed in one of the four previous volumes, which are located at the Mason County Public Library; 6th & Viand Streets; Point Pleasant, WV 25550; phone 304-675-2913. HTH! 3. Cynthia Cocker wrote: > > Does anyone have the 1890 and 1900 Mason County census records? Sorry, Cynthia--the 1890 census does not exist. It was destroyed by fire on 10 Jan 1921, in the basement of the Commerce Building. A total of 8,919 volumes were destroyed by fire, smoke and water damage, of which 7,957 were from the 1910 census. The census schedules of 1790-1820 and 1850-1870 were stored on the fifth floor of the Commerce Building, and were spared. Included in the damaged volumes were schedules from 1830, 1840, 1880, 1900 and 1910. Beyond-salvage fragments of the 1890 census were finally destroyed in 1935. In 1942, the National Archives acquired a damaged bundle of surviving Illinois schedules as part of a shipment of records found during a Census Bureau move. At the time, they were believed to be the only surviving fragments. In 1953, the Archives accessioned an additional set of fragments, from Alabama, Georgia, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, South Dakota, Texas and the District of Columbia. They have been microfilmed as National Archives Microfilm Publication M407 (3 rolls). A corresponding index of 6,160 names is available as National Archives Microfilm Publication M496 (2 rolls). Both can be viewed at NARA, the regional archives, and several other repositories. Julie, endlessly sorting out dead relatives.....

    3. Does anyone have the 1890 and 1900 Mason County census records? I'm looking for Henry T. Perry and McClelland Harmon. They were married in 1884 and lived in Mason County, so I'm hoping they show up on the 1890 and 1900 census. The 1900 census should have my g-grandmother, Lula May, as a 3 year-old child. Thanks! 1. Harmon, James
    2. Thomas F. Shultz & Merry Anne Pierson
    3. On the 1900 census I found to my surprise a relative married to James Harmon. Lilly Catherine Pierson/Pearson married James Harmon in 1890 according to the Mason Co, marriage book. She's listed as Catherine in the book. The reason I know its her, is that on the 1900 census, she's listed as Lilly C. and her brother James A. Pierson/pearson is residing with them. Does anyone know anything about the Harman family? The census says he was born in Ohio as were both his parents. Lilly Catherine was born in Meigs County. I've checked the Harmon/Harman families there and did not find James. Any help greatly appreciated. If anyone has access to the 1910 census could you look for them? Merry ANne Pierson

    3. Does anyone have information on the following PERRY'S? I know that George and Nancy Morrow are in my line, but I'm not certain about the others yet: George PERRY married Nancy F. Morrow 19 Aug 1873 Elizabeth PERRY married John Bailey 25 Oct 1872 Margaret PERRY married Richard Baker 13 Jan 1875 Jessie PERRY married Ada Fowler 28 Jan 1908 Charles A. PERRY married Annie Krautter 23 Jul 1899 William PERRY married Minnie McCoy 23 Sep 1896 My Perry's were born in Virginia/West Virginia. I believe they were married in the early 1850's, before George was born. I have 12 children born to John and Sarah Perry (her maiden name is unknown). They are: George b. 1852 Elizabeth D. b. 1853 William b. 1854 Margaret b. 1856 Charles Edward b. 15 Sep 1858 Jennie b. 1861 Henry T. b. 1864 (my g-g-grandfather) Alice b. 1866 James b. 1868 Blanche b. 1869 Jessie b. 1874 John b. 1877 I'm also looking for information on my g-g-grandmother, McCLELLAND HARMON, who married Henry T. PERRY 18 Mar 1884 in Gallia County, Ohio. I'm trying to find out who her parents were. I have a theory that her mother's maiden name was McClelland, which is where she got her name. Henry and McClelland were living in Mason County. They had at least two children, Bell in 1887 who died from burns on 25 Aug 1888 and Lula May, my g-grandmother, who was born 10 Sep 1896. Lula married Walter Charles Lucas 1 Jan 1912 when she was barely 15. I can't find anything on Walter, so I don't know if he died or they divorced. Lula married my g-grandfather, William Charles Clutter, and moved to Wood County where my great uncle Raymond C. Clutter was born in 1913 and my grandmother, Margaret Ruth in 1916. Three other children followed: William in 1918, Audry May in 1920 (who died in 1921 of malnutrition) and Nellie in 1921. William C. died when Grandma was young, but I don't know if they divorced before he died or if he left her a widow. Does anyone have ANY information on these families so I can make a link? I've hit a brick wall that I can't seem to get around. Thank you! Cynthia Cocker
