The three names that were talked about in my family are Nicholas (aka Neils), Andrew, and John. Nicholas was married but we have been able to figure out to whom. Andrew was married to a Keziah but can't seems to find their marriage date. John was married Karenhappuck but don't have any date as well. They had land along the South Branch of the Potomac River and Little Cacapon River. Also, Andrew Friend married to Elizabeth Peragen in Point Pleasant but not able to find any marriage date. If you have any information about these three men, please email and fill me in. Thanks Lorna, I went to the Metropolitan Library here in OH. to see what they have on Mason Co. There was nothing in the marriages or death records on them. Nancy
Nancy - Am sending a bit more to add to your collection. If you look at the children, this is the same Jerome/Rome in 1910/1920/1930. As Ernie Wright said, 1910 shows Jerome, Flora O., Etta 7, Bonnie 4, Myrtie 2, Emma or Erma 6mo 1917 WWI Draft Reg. shows wife as Oshie. 1920 (same location) shows: Rome 42, Osha 38, Ettie 17, Bonnie 14, Myrtie 12, Irma 10, Roma (dau) 8, Thelma 5, Nora 2-10/12 1930 (same location) Rome 52, Laura D or O 48 (I double checked this and it does show Laura and 1910 does show Flora - the O and D middle initials are up for debate), Thelma 15, Nora 12, Stanley 8 Confusing isn't it......Lorna ----- Original Message ----- From: nancylc4@netzero.net To: wvmason@rootsweb.com Sent: Sunday, October 07, 2007 5:46 PM Subject: Re: [WVMASON] Harbour family Thanks Lorna, Not sure if this is the one i`m looking for but will keep the info. Thank you Ernie, i will check it out. I have been through all death records on line and can`t find them. Nancy
Nancy - If you go back to the online death records, you will see a Ruthie Harbour in Mason Co. with informant as Rome. Jerome appears to have gone by "Rome" in various census records (one indexed by Ancestry as Ronie) and by Rome in his 1917 WWI Draft Registration. The Mason Co. marriage book shows a Gerome Harbor m. Laura O. Bowen on 15 Sep 1910 so perhaps Flora died?? The WWI Draft Reg. shows wife as Oshie. He has signed his WWII Draft Reg. as Rome with wife shown only as Mrs. Rome Harbour. The LDS website shows her as Laura Ochie Bowen - she d.1976 in Gallia Co. OH per Ancestry Ohio deaths.....Lorna (not sure if this is the same Jerome?) ----- Original Message ----- From: nancylc4@netzero.net To: wvmason@rootsweb.com Sent: Sunday, October 07, 2007 12:15 PM Subject: Re: [WVMASON] Harbour family Thank you Ernie, i will check it out. When and where were previous postings done of Mason County Death Records? Sorry about that Teresa. I hope I'm wrong, but they told me they had to have money appropriated from the Governor and the Legislature for that purpose and, frankly, I don't think that's going to happen soon. The stats that are up now was done as a pilot by an out-of-state company and Culture and History had problems with the project. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the rest of the info will get done at some point, but I don't know when. Jean Teresa M. Dear Jean: Oh.......................................................................... ................................. Teresa :[
It's good news that they are considering posting more vital statistics information, but I think we need a definition of "eventually" before we celebrate. Frankly, based on my discussion with staff at WV Culture and History, I don't believe the posting will occur any time soon. Jean in WV Teresa M. Arlona, It's been some time since the initial query regarding the Wyoma Cemetery burials was posted to the mail list by Ken Lewis (see below). I do not recall having asked you to look for the surname BAKER in your books. Would it be possible for you to check for any & all BAKER persons who are listed @ Wyoma Cem? I would greatly appreciate help with this request.
