    2. For Joseph Henry Hummel, Jr... regarding Mason County newspapers... a number of years ago I had my local librarian send to WV University Library in Morgantown for microfilms of old Point Pleasant newspapers. I believe I could keep each one at my local library for a few weeks and was able to spend many hours there scouring through them. I obtained a lot of great information that way. You could try that route. Good luck! Karen Hensley Hollinger Depends on the time frame and the locaity.Huntington Hearld Dispatch carries a lot of Mason County obits , mostly in the Easterly area. Any obit after June 2000 is acailable and printable on their web page . Charleston Gazette , carries them for some and only is free archives for 2 weeks . I don't have any info on the Point Pleasant newspapers ,Mason County Library has a great library of micro films. What surnames are you looking for ? Cabell County has a micro films of HHD back to about 1900 , Marshall U. Library has many different papers. 3. Well............I did it. One of the ladies that does genealogy for a living and I always see her at the Ohio Historical Society, is going to give me one of her microfilm readers. She says that she has about 6 of them and will strike a deal with me. I'm going to begin to purchase microfilms [Gallia/Clermont/Meigs] to begin with. Little by little, I'm going to have those films all read. We'll get all our brick walls "fixed" one way or another. Teresa Herrmann Columbus, Ohio

    3. Henry H. Angel Word was received here yesterday of the death of Henry H. Angel, 69 years old, a former resident of this city, who passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Charles Ward, 1119 Third Avenue, Huntington, W. Va. Death was caused by paralysis. Mr. and Mrs. Angel made their home in this city with their sons, Curtis and Bronson Angel, who lived at 736 Eighth street for sometime. Later the sons moved to near Sciotoville and the father and mother went to live with their daughter in Huntington. Mr. Angel was born in Mason county, W. Va., October 22, 1853, and had resided in that vicinity his entire life. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Sarah Angel, two daughters, Mrs. Edna Long of Middleport, O., and Mrs. Charles Ward, Huntington; five sons, Joseph Angel of Huntington, Harry Angel of Charleston; Curtis and Bronson Angel, of Portsmouth, and Roy Angel of Mansfield. He is also survived by three sisters: Mrs. Fannie Tremble and Mrs. J. S. Cost of Gallipolis, and Mrs. Louisa Dixon of Portsmouth. 3. Thank you Nancy and Joan... I think Charles and Elizabeth look like a likely candidate. I also found another possibility and that would be George W., b. abt 1853 to George Mayes and Nancy Eads. I don't have a marriage for him either. The 1900 census for George W. gives his birth date as Apr 1855, which of course can't be heavily relied on. Thank you again!
