    2. Creston Cemetery is located in Cologne District Mason County. Geo Location is Cottageville which is in Jackson County. I have a complete reading of this cemetery done by Juanita Burdette of Leon, WV. If you wish I will look up any grave site that is listed. For other cemeteries in West Virginia please refer to _http://www.wvcpaweb.org/WVCemeteries.html_ (http://www.wvcpaweb.org/WVCemeteries.html) . Creston has not been completed but many of the cemeteries have been read and have pictures of gravestones. This is a wonderful site and list the cemeteries by county and in alphabetical order. 3. WE will be visiting Jackson Co., W VA; Franklin Co., and hopefully, Henry Co., Virginia this coming June any suggestions would appreciated. We are interested in Jabel Bowles, one of the pioneer settlers of the Parchment area in Jackson Co., formerly, Mason Co. Jabel's 1870 will being proved about 1 Nov 1875. He married the daughter of Nathaniel Mason and his mother married Nathaniel Mason in Franklin Co. His son, Martin, moved to Clay co. Indiana where my father-in-law [great grand son of Martin] grew up. The goal is to visit some of the areas that they lived in and fill in some of the data gaps. Many thanks, Jeannette Maxey

    1. Re: [WVMASON] Newell and LeMasters
    2. Cathy Meder-Dempsey
    3. Joseph, Do you have a marriage record or date for Rebecca LeMasters and Alexander Clonch? Alexander Clonch married first Mary Ellen LeMasters 10 Nov 1863 in Mason Co. In their marriage notes I have: "Divorce of Alexander Clonch and Mary E. Clonch as found in Mason Co., WV Chancery Order Book March term 1880, p 274. The marriage was dissolved, Mary did not appear and she does not get her dower and must pay costs. Interesting case. Alexander had two other wives before this divorce was final. Mary had eight children by John Clonch, Alexander's brother by this time too." [Source: Ralph Hayes, 17 May 2002, CLAUNCH-L Archives] In my notes on Alexander Clonch and Rebecca LeMasters I noted "Rebecca may have died between the time of her last child's birth in 1875 and 1880. Alex, the father of her children, was listed as divorced in the 1880 census. This is most likely referring to his divorce from his first wife Mary Ellen Lemasters, Rebecca's sister, in March 1880. I have seen a marriage date listed online (13 May 1864) for Rebecca and Alex but have not seen documentation to back it up. Possible that they never married due to the fact that Alex and Mary Ellen were not divorced." Mary Ellen LeMasters married John Clonch (Alexander's brother) on 7 May 1895 in Gallia Co., OH. By this time they had 13 known children. In 1880 Mary was listed as his wife on the census. In 1900 they were listed as having been married 38 yrs. In 1910 John listed as having been married twice and Mary only once. Both are listed as being married 44 yrs. In 1910. Alexander Clonch and his third wife Tobitha Cooley were my 2nd great-grandparents.
