My name is Carol Frary and I am researching my family in Marshall County. I think they all were in Marshall and Wetzel Counties during the 1800's and some moved across the Ohio River and lived in Steubenville down to Shadyside. I will start with my father's father. In the Brooke CO marriages there is a Mathew BOYD and Elias FARQUAR seeking a marriage license in 1828. I sent to Brooke CO. but finally received a letter that they could not find a marriage license. I am wondering if Mathew was married twice. The will leads me to this conclusion.) The children from this or these unions were: Abraham Margaret married an Anderson William H. Isaac **** Jeremiah BOYD Isaac B.in Greene CO., PA. married MCDONALD, Martha Jane. They lived in Proctor, WV. These are the children from that union: James Georgia Jerry or John Allison**** John may have had his name changed when he become of age. Some say his name was Jerry Edward or Jerry Alley but I knew him as John Allison BOYD John Allison born in March or April of 1875 in Hundred, WV; Died in 1939 in Georges Run, Ohio. He married Rosa Belle SMITH 23 January 1896. My gggrand parents were Mathew BOYD and Elizabeth BOGARD and Isaac SMITH and Sarah HUTSON. My ggrandparents were Isaac BOYD and Martha Jane MCDONALD and Thomas SMITH and Cora Arena WINGROVE and my grand parents were John Allison BOYD and Rosa Belle SMITH. My father is Charles Allison BOYD. The next posting I will send my Mothers genealogy. I hope this is not confusing. I have not numbered everyone yet. I am only beginning this search.
