    3. What a story! If anyone responds to this, would they PLEASE do so on list, as this is a very unusual and intriguing story? I recall a story from an elderly cousin, lingering in a hospital after a bout of pneumonia, and all he worried about what the arthritis in his hands and fingers, which caused his fingers to curl tightly. He complained that his little finger on his one hand wasn't worth a damn, as he couldn't even hold berries when he went berry picking. He asked the doctors to cut the damned thing off, but they wouldn't do it. He said, and I recall him telling my dad this, "If they'd give me a sharp knife I'd do it myself, but they won't give me no knife!" We are shaped by the times and conditions in which we live, and by the people we're priviliged to get to know, if only briefly. jim Ernie Buckley wrote: > > Hello list.
