Hi folks! After too long just watching the e-mails fly, I've decided to jump in. I've hesitated because I purchased Ultimate Family Tree and wanted to figure out how to use it before I got too far along. I am impressed with the tremendous amount of time and effort Linda spends on the Marshall Co. web page and with the helpfulness I see so many of you exhibit. I spent the first 20+ years of my life on Fork Ridge ... eventually kept moving further away until I ended up in Washington, PA. I'm still on the "ridge" twice a month or more as all of my immediate family is still there. I had started researching the following Marshall Co. families when I still lived there (have more detailed info but this should help anyone recognize whether we connect): My great-grandparents: Adam KUHN - b. 1874 in Wallerfangen Germany; d. 1912 in Moundsville, WV m. Hattie May CLARK - b. 1879; d. 1950 Eli CHURCH - b. 1872; d. 1958 m. Lenora Susan SUMMERS - b. 1878; d. 1965 Samuel U. HARRIS - b. 1846; d. 1936 m. Mary Elizabeth RICHMOND - b. 1849; d. 1926 Charles Gibson ASTON - b. 1864; d. 1948 m. Cancedlea (spelling?) "Della" MCGARY - b. 1868; d. 1958 My grandparents: Herbert KUHN - b. 1898; d. 1972 m. Nellie Bell CHURCH - b. 1902; d. 1999 Charles McClure HARRIS - b. ?; d. 1932 m. Dessie Charlotte ASTON - b. 1899; d. 198? (can't believe I never filled this one in on my chart - will have to dig it out) All four sides of ancestry (KUHN, CHURCH, HARRIS, ASTON) have been tied primarily to Fork Ridge, but also to Moundsville and other areas of the county. Just last week, we buried the last of my grandparents at the Fork Ridge Christian Church cemetery - I guess that's what has motivated me to start in again with a renewed interest. So ....... I'm willing to share and learn from others. Bear with me, though, as I try to adapt my records to the computer age of genealogy. Jo Ellen (KUHN) Dalton e-mail: [email protected]
