Hi all! I am still working on the Marshall County cemeteries map, though I had to give it up until after Thanksgiving because I am buried under a stack of papers to grade and papers to write and neither stack seems to be getting any shorter. In any case, I have some idea about the Leach Cemetery. The only cemetery that I have been able to find on Rt. 36 is Whitegate, the Prison Cemetery. I have looked on several different types of maps, including road atlas versions and topographic maps, which should reveal all of the cemeteries. (It turns out, however, that that is not the case.) There is a cemetery located at the intersection of 250 and Rt. 38 called Buchanan Hill Cemetery. That is all of the information I have at the moment. I will bug my dad again and see what information he has. He was a "ridge runner" all his life, so he might know where another one is. I have made a great deal of progress on the cemetery map. The most difficult task is collating and comparing several different kinds and types of maps and coming up with the right location and name of these cemeteries. In reference to the question about the absence of Leach Cemetery from Mrs. Briggs' list, there are several cemeteries (more than a dozen) that are not mentioned on her list. I think that she probably ran out of time, and some of these are in remote and heavily overgrown areas. I hope that I have been of help. I will keep you updated as to the progress of the map. It should be very extensive when I finish it. At this point, I think it will be in at least three, maybe four parts. Christina Parsons Ohio University Athens, Ohio
