I'd like to share with you a message contained in the March 1999 newsletter #159 of Seattle, Wa., Family History Center-North Stake Branch:"sometime during the next few weeks the Family History Dept. will be beta testing a new Internet site. We have not yet received detailed information concerning the types of searches that will be available online, but we are providing the address so that our patrons and staff can try it out from their home computers. the address is:Http://www.familysearch.org After an initial testing period, the site will be closed for evaluation. Following the evaluation period a formal statement will be issued regarding the future of the service. We would like to encourage all of you who have Internet access at home to watch for and use the site during the test period, then provide feedback and/or suggestions."
