I found this on a tombstone in Big Run Cemetary in WVA. Jacob Quigley Corp. Co. H 17th W.VA. Inf. (no death date) The list says his wife Nancy is buried beside him. According to all my records......Jacob is the SON of Nancy and William (who is also buried nearby) Since I live 4+ hours away from Big Run, can someone check this out for me if they go to Big Run Cemetary? I'm not sure if it is an error on my part, a stone error, or a transcription error. Thanks in advance if anyone can do this. Someone may also have a text of those buried there that may help. I got this info from the cemetary listings by Mrs. Briggs on the Marshall Co. pages. ALSO..... Does anyone know when Jacob Quigley died? He was born 1843 and lived in Marshall Co. according to the census I have seen. Married to Eliza Jane Hart. He was on the 1880 census - I don't have access to later ones. Where else should I look? ALSO..... Does anyone know anything about the 17th WVA Infantry??? Jacob was in Co. H. There may be some info in the book by Theodore F. Lang - Loyal West Virginia from 1861 to 1865. ( pages 302-03 ) Has anyone heard of this book and does anyone have access to it? I know I'm asking a lot, but this is important to me to know about my GG- Grandfather.
