Hello Marshall Co. Researchers, Marilee, I am working on the MARTIN family who were in Marshall Co.- in particular, I am trying to gather info on BONHAM SR. and NANCY/ANNE (MCCULLOUGH) MARTIN, who moved from Greene Co., PA, to Marshall Co. (on Fish Ck., possibly a place named Elizabethtown), before 1836. Bonham Martin was born ca. 1770's, the son of John and Rachel (Tate) Martin. I think Bonham and Nancy probably married in PA, ca.1800-1810. Bonham is in the PA censuses for 1800 (Washington Co., West Bethlehem Twp), 1810 (Greene Co., Morgan Twp.), & 1820 (Greene Co., Morgan Twp.). I think he is the Bonham Martin in Ohio Co., (W) VA 1830 census and the 1840 Marshall Co., (W) VA census.. Nancy (McCullough) Martin's sister, MARY (MCCULLOUGH) ALLMAN, and her husband, BENJAMIN ALLMAN, were also in the Ohio Co., (W) VA 1830 Census and, then, in the 1840 Marshall Co., (W) VA Census. Mary and Benjamin Allman moved to Wood Co., WV before the 1860 census. I think that your BENJAMIN MARTIN (b. Abt. 1816, in PA) could possibly be a child of Bonham and Nancy/Anne (McCullough) Martin. I don't have any of their children, yet, but Benjamin Martin is listed in the next household to Bonham in the 1840 Marshall Co. census. Benjamin might be a nephew if not the son of Bonham. Benjamin Martin is in the 1840 Marshall Co., (W) VA census, house #357, with 4 persons: 1 male under 5; 1 female under 5; 1 male 20-30; and 1 female 20-30. Bonham and Nancy/Anna Martin both died after 1847, but I don't know where or when. It's a good possibility that they moved west (with Benjamin and Mary?). There are some Martin Family histories on the Washington Co., PA "BEERS" pages, at: <http://www.chartiers.com/beers-project/articles/> I'm not sure if Benjamin is in them, but you might check. Best regards to all, Peg in WV
