Just one more note on Joliffe. If you haven't been there, I encourage you to go. It's on top (and I mean on top) of a hill near Silver Hill, is well marked, well cared for and absolutely beautiful. You can see for miles up there. My anscestors Micheal and Martha Burley Pyles are buried there as well as many of their descendants (my grandparents, aunts, uncles cousins). Michael and Martha are right on the crest of the hill. I'd love to hear from those of you who have an ancestor there. I only recall one stone that I saw that didn't have a name that was somehow related to Michael and Martha so I'd love to find out where you fit in my family tree. Also, does anyone know if Joliffe Cemetery was once part of the Michael Pyles estate? He owned several hundred acres in the 1800's.
