Hi Karen & List: There are enough descendants still in Marshall County to publish my answers to the List. You are correct about the Cresap Family book being the one you have. It is primarily a genealogy book. Both Appalachian Power Company and Ohio Power Comany were operating companies of the parent firm, American Electric Power. American Electric Power had 7 different operating companies in 7 states. The Mitchell Plant started out under the direction of Appalachian Power Company. I believe they supervised the construction phase of the plant. Once the plant was operational, Ohio Power took over the running of the plant. Basically the employees remained the same but the management of the plant was shifted to the Canton, OH based Ohio Power Company. American Electric Power, which is based in Columbus, OH, has 3 million customers in portions of Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Tennesse, Virginia, and West Virginia. They also have interest in the United Kingdom and China. In 1996 American Electric Power disbanded all it's operating companies and all business units, including Mitchell Plant, are now under American Electric Power - Americas Energy Partner. In late 1997 AEP announced it's intention to merge with the Dallas, TX based Central and South West Corp. The new merged company will be known as AEP. AEP anticipates a savings of $2 billion over 10 years for it's customers because of elimination of duplicate services. I am not aware of any court documents relating to the moving of this cemetery. The Grisell Funeral Home is a family owned business which has been in operation in Marshall County for 150 plus years. Curtis Grisell who is about 84 and retired was involved in the moving of the graves. I will check to see if I can get copies of the pictures. They were originally slides but pictures were made from the slides in 1997. The cemetery was moved in 1967 but there was new construction in this area in 1997. Vernon
