Surnames: Sees Seese Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/AEC.2ACE/605.1 Message Board Post: I think I found him..... This was the first record I found...Spelling changes..but that was common. SEES, JONAS State: WV Year: 1870 County: Tyler County Record Type: Federal Population Schedule Township: Mcelroy Township Page: 309 Database: WV 1870 Federal Census Index 1850 U.S. Census • Virginia • Tyler • District 61 Sees, Christopher..Head..age 56..Farmer..born MD Sees, Rachel..wife..age 56..born VA Sees, Eugenius..son..age 16 Sees, Jonas..son..age 12 Sees, Christopher..son..age 21 I checked the 1800 census for Christopher's father...only one Sees / Seese came up: Sees, Casper State: Maryland Year: 1800 County: Frederick Roll: M32_10 Township: Districk No. 3 Page: 119 Image: 120 (unfortunately..it does not list the childrens names, but it appears to have one male child under the age of 5...could be Christopher who would have been born approx. 1796) Nothing even close to that name on the 1810 census for Maryland. Maybe thats when they moved to Tyler Co. Va/ WV..sometime between 1800 and 1810. I checked the 1790 Frederick Co MD census for any SEES..or SEESE..nothing came up...so I checked the State of MD for any first names of Casper...29 results..but nothing close to the name Seese. Hope all of this helps some.....Happy Hunting!
