It is next door to St. Vincent's Church & School on Key Ave. My Mom works there. Boys are sent there who have been removed from their homes due to abuse of one kind or another. It's kind of a half-way home. Some are sent back to their families, some are fostered, some adopted, some sent to stricter places due to acting out aggression. They spend anywhere from a few days up to a year there. The Home is only supposed to have a certain number of boys at a time, within a certain age limit, and for a limited amount of time. It's a place the state can keep the kids until it decides what to do with them. If you need other info, I can ask my Mom what she knows. I'm not sure if there is any written history about the place that I could access. I'm also not sure about the types of records available concerning the children who have stayed there. I would imagine that any existing records would be sealed due to the minor status of the boys.
