I have been looking for years for Melinda (Belinda) (Lucinda) Martin. All I know is that she married Frederick Allman in Marshall county VA (now WVA) on May 21, 1848. Her parents were not mentioned. A 1830 census for Marshall co. va calls her lucinda and says she was born in VA (dad PA, mom NJ), another for 1880 says she was born in PA and calls herself melinda. Her tombstone in Wood/Wirt County says Belinda. Confusing? You bet. We believe she was probably born between 1826-1830. I've been trying to pull up any Martins in the VA/PA border area that have those names. Of course there are several. Any ideas or leads appreciated. Squire Martin has lucindas, john hugh martin has melindas, and on it goes-- but nothing to match to her. One of her son's is named Jeremiah-- and I've even found those. One possible lead has an LDS posting for a Melinda Martin born about 1829 in Monongalia-- father John Hugh Martin. No further info. Any way to eliminate that?
