> Does anyone know where I would look for deeds registered under a > Can anyone give a more detailed explanation of the "Tomahawk Deed"? My search is for the Kimble & Givens families. They were in the Greene/Washington County area of PA in the late 1700s and early 1800s; before migrating to the Belmont and Monroe Counties of Ohio In 1776 John KIMBLE b/1743 in Frederick Co., VA d/1819(as per will) in Washington Co., PA. Online from Ginny Core, I find........ 12 Jan 1776 Land on RACCOON CREEK was originally purchased from six Indian chiefs of the United Nations. The bill of sale listed each chief and tribe, called a 'TAMAHAWK DEED'. Registered in Philadelphia, PA and Augusta, VA. I am also seeking info on Daniel GIVENS who witnessed the Will of John KIMBLE in 1819 Any assistance appreciated Audrey
