I am seeking information on William O. Powell, who was a farmer in what is now Marshall County in the mid-1800s. William O. was born about 1802, married Mary Jefferson, daughter of John and Elizabeth Jefferson, Aug 18, 1857. He was 55 at the time and a widow. Mary was 46. His first wife was also named Mary and she apparently died in the early 1850s. He had five sons. One, William S., born about 1840, was an educator in Marshall County, and at one time served on the Board that tested and certified teachers, including my great aunt Maude Jefferson.
