Hi All, I have some questions about the "message board posts" that sometimes appear on our list. 1. Are they a query that automatically gets posted to our list because of a computer somewhere, that decides the query should come to our list? 2. Or are they specifically posted to our list? 3.When reponding to one of these "message board posts" should one respond to the list or to the person directly as they may not necessarily even be on this list, if #1 is correct? 4. Why do many of the messages seem to be abruptly cut off? The reason I post these questions, besides the fact that I don't know the answers, is that I posted a reply to a "message board posts" from: jgriffin@att.net And the posts now seem directed as if I posted the original post. I'm as that old song so aptly states, "...bewitched, bothered and bewildered." Forget the 1st one, but the other two do apply to message board posts. Sylvia

Perhaps they were John and Margaret Criswell, other children: Charles, John, Kiziah J., Daniel, Amos, Brady, Norris W. I would appreciate any info that seems to relate to this family. Thanks.
Hi I agree with your guess that William H. Criswell's parents are John Criswell and Margaret Burrows. I've only been able to find them linked in census data. I've not found any vital records to support this . 1850 Marshall Co John Criswell 37 OH Margaret 37 OH ... William H N 3 VA 1860 Marshall Co John Criswell 47 OH Margaret 46 OH .... William H 12 VA 1870 William not found with parents 1880 Marshall Co John Criswell 67 OH Margaret 66 OH W H H 30 VA don't know if this is William H, due to the slight difference of age and that there is another listing. 1880 Marshall Co William Criswell 31 VA Susan 33 VA .... 1900 Marshall Co William Crisswell 58 WV Susan 55 WV Shelton S. 13 WV 1910 Census, William and Susan weren't found, but Shelton age 23 was living with Charles M/ Lydick. There are lots of connections between the Criswell, Marple, Lydick and Vanaman families. Sylvia

First of all, thank you to those that put the Naturalization Index online. At the index site it states that the Naturalization records are at the Morgantown Library. How can I get copies of the original records? Can I request them from the library or somewhere else? Any idea of the cost? Thank you...Tina
Can anyone help me on John Marshall who was a blacksmith in Cameron. He had a sister Nancy Marshall Manning Riggle. I believe he also had a sister Priscilla. In a letter by a son of Priscilla it said Priscilla had a brother who was a blacksmith in Cameron. I have an affidavit signed by a John Marshall for Nancy Marshall, his sister, in 1895. He was born in 1811. I also have an affidavit from Nancys brother Emanuel Marshall from Bridgeport, Ohio. I would like to find any information on him, especially his parents. Does anyone know if the Fish funeral home is still in existence in Cameron? I cant seem to find their address on the internet. Frank Manning fmanning@erols.com

I knew them when I was little, but do not remember them well. I was wondering if by any chance you knew Mrs. Garvin's maiden name?? My mother-in-law also attended Warwood High School in the 30's, and I may have her picture in the Warwood High Yearbook, if that would hold any personal interest for you. Is James McCuskey Dewolf still available on line? I have some information on the Blodgett genealogy file if you are interested. Frank Manning fmanning@erols.com

Call ahead to verify. They sell a kit for researchers $10.00 - check the web site for details. The maps included were very good. I did not call ahead to get times when a researcher was in. You need to do that. Many early Court House records were discarded. Many individuals and groups have tried to compile information from a variety of other sources. I didn't know who I was looking for so did not visit the Court House to look at land records. I spent several hours at the Citizens Library. The Genealogical Society of Southwestern Pennsyvlania Reserach materials are housed there. The Library has a copy machine - coin operated or you can discuss with information folks and get access to a key if you plan to copy alot of documents. Everyone was very pleasant. The library has Pedigree Charts, a card file of other researachers, and files dedicated to information requested and received on surnames. I found interesting stuff in all three. The space is small compared to others I have visited, but they have a large quantity of books and reference materials. They have a booklet on the table to guide you through some of the main publications depending on what you are reseraching. You may want to contact them in advance about what times volunteers are there. I was alone the entire time. The research librarian for the library proper assisted me with finding a phone number for an author and publisher. Can you believe it, the author was still alive and copies of the book still available. A first for me in my short time involved with this endeavor. One Word of Caution: The parking lot has meters. I kept going out but ended up with a ticket as I was trying to finish up to go catch a plane. The city made it very simple to pay them, there is a box on the street at the edge of the parking lot to put your fine in the designated envelope. A little weird, but at least accommodating.
