    1. Land Deeds
    2. Frank Manning
    3. On August 6, 1852 a land deed was recorded in Marshall County. It was originally written 24 Sept 1825 in Ohio County where Benjamin Manning and Jerusha his wife deeded 214 acres to John Manning. This John Manning, I believe is a son of Benjamin and his first wife. I have never been able to find anything more on this John Manning. I am hoping there might be a further deed in Marshall County where he would have been the grantor. The land had to be passed to someone else at a later time. Is there someone in Marshall County that could look for that second deed? I can supply a full copy of the first deed if it would be helpful. Frank Manning

After I copied your note to him, he sent me a photo of Bethseba's stone which he photographed in Roane Co next to Jordan's stone. When you get back send your email address and I will forward the photo. Brooks and I have been spending a great deal of time working on Hugh McMillan who is supposed to be Jordan's father. I will be in DC in January and plan to go to Maryland Archives to finds some documents, I located on line. Hugh is a bit of an enigma, everyone has something different on him. Have a happy holiday. I've found it interesting that Jordan's 2nd wife was Martha Blair, sister of my husband's greatgrandmother, Mary Ann Blair Knox. I looked for Jordan's obit in the Wash D.C. newspapers, but did not find one. I do have the writeup Wendy sent me from Roane co about him. All my Knox and allied families data is back in CO. Right now we're in northern VA for the holidays with two of our daughters and their families. We'll be back home about 5 January. Have a Happy Holiday season, Jan

HALCYON HILLS MEMORIAL CEMETERY is located on Route #88 in Sherrard, between Wheeling and Moundsville, WV. Not sure if that is your man or not, but it wouldn't hurt to check out the Marshall County page. It's the best site on the web. Billy
