    2. HELLO, FRED, Green Valley is a street in the cCameron, WVa area, it is the street that leads to the Penna line. It is now called Penna Ave. What Anderson family are you working on.? I descend from Lewis and Mariah Eckelberry Anderson from Wetzel Co, Knob Fork area. Cameron was on the B& O Railroad line, it was a booming town in the early 1900's when the railroad and gas and oil were booming. We had about 3000 people them now we have about 1100. Most are older folks. If you have any other questions let me know. Shirley Allen [email protected]

    3. I've recently learned of a family connection with this tiny town just over the county line in Wetzel County. (Wilson Shannon Wiley, for whom the town was named, was brother to my GGG-Grandfather, Archibald Wiley.) Apparently, this family of Wilson Shannon Wiley, arrived in [W]Virginia in 1827, well before my g-grandfather, A J Wiley, who moved from Ohio to near Proctor, WV in 1860. Details of any correspondence are not extant, so I have no way of knowing if the families were even aware of each other, living so nearby. Also - there appear to be other Wiley families of the Wileyville/Wetzel County areas. Would enjoy chewing the fat with anyone interested in gnawing over these tough research items. My cousins were even kind enough and had memories sufficient to name most of the folks in the pictures - many Wileys, Yohos, Wades, and others. I don't have these on a website, yet, but wonder if there is interest here on anyone's part to take a peek, see if they recognize cousins, etc. Jim Wiley + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + - James Wiley, AKA [email protected]

    2. I have nearly a thousand old pictures of Marshall Co people, mostly Howards, Wellings, Chambers, Andersons. There are a couple school photos from the turn of the century. There are a few of young workers at the pottery. Not all of the photos have identification. These photos aren't currently listed on a web site, but I will respond to requests. (I have exchanged photos with about 100 people at this point.) Some of the photos are labeled "Green Valley". Can anyone give me info on this area/ village? Fred Bice

    3. Hello group, I'm working on the VARLEY genealogy in Marshall County. My 2nd great grandfather was William VARLEY who was born in Marshall County, Oct, 1823. He married Drusilla HOLLINGSHEAD in Dec 1844. They had four children, some of whom stayed in Marshall. I'd be curious to know if anyone recognizes William or has seen his picture anywher else. You can see his picture portfolio starting at varley.org/photo01.htm. His Marshall County house is is at varley.org/photo011.htm. Residents of the house in 1946 at varley.org/photo0111.htm. I'd love to have some feedback on these pictures and especially to know if anyone recognizes the Marshall county residents pictured in the 1946 picture. So .. please stop on by and take a peek. Pull a mouse up to the front porch and stay a while. Ann [email protected] www.varley.org Varley Genealogy Site dedicated to the exchange of VARLEY surname and related family information

    3. Hi everyone! I just learned this evening that the Ohio University library has several census indexes that might be valuable to some of you. Pennsylvania Census 1790--listing all head of households and men over 21 year of age. Pennsylvania 1800, 1810, 1820, 1850 Census Indexes I will be more than happy to look up surnames or whatever you need from these census records. It may take me a few days, but I am more than glad to help. About the cemeteries map-- it is slowly coming together. I have had a few snags, but I should be finished within a week or two. Happy hunting, Christina Parsons Ohio University Athens, Ohio

    3. Hello, I have been looking in Ohio Co. for this family, but thought I would check in Marshall Co.. I have heard a few times that there were several in Marshall Co. I am looking for any information about a MARSH family that lived in Wheeling W. V. in 1860 and 1870. I believe that my great- grandfather may have come from this family. He supposedly disowned them, therefore I don't have a lot of info to go on. I found the family in the 1860/1870 census but no other census records have been found in West Virginia. I haven't found any marriage or death records for any of them as of yet. I believe they may have moved before 1880. Following is the information for the W.V. MARSH'S. I have no proof that he is of this particular family. I would like to find out either way. John MARSH born c. 1835 - Father Elizabeth MARSH b.c. 1837- Mother (?sister named Katherine Gray b.c. 1842?) John MARSH b.c. 1855 William\Williard MARSH b.c. 1857 "Charles" MARSH b.c. 1860 Elizabeth MARSH b.c. 1861 Albert MARSH b.c. 1862-1865 Harry MARSH b.c. 1865-1869 Nora MARSH b.c.1865-1869 Nelly MARSH b.c. 1870 My great-grandfather was Charles Adam MARSH. He was supposedly born in Wheeling West Virginia in 1870, but possibly 1860. He is the son of John and Elizabeth (GRAY) MARSH. He had his only child (Julia MARSH) in Kenton Co.,Kentucky in 1913. In 1915 he and his family moved to Middletown, Butler Co., Ohio. He died there in 1952. I have no confirmed documentation of him before 1913. I can't find a marriage record for him and his wife (Kathleen\Catherine\Cassie ANDERSON). I believe they married between 1902-1912. Does anyone know of either family? I would be very grateful of anyone who can help. Thank you very much. In a message dated 98-09-08 03:48:41 EDT, you write: << This is a multi-part message in MIME format. >> Do others have problems with messages that says"This is a multi-part message in MIME format."? All I really get iout of such messages is a series of addresses, etc but no actual text. Is the MIMI format incompatible with aol? or am I just missing something. Sure would like to understand this. 1. Cemeteries Map
    2. Christina & Nick
    3. The other day I was in the book store here in Athens and found a large atlas with detailed maps of WV Counties. Each county map has cemeteries, country roads, and other details on them that are not found on standard maps. Although the map in its current size would be too large to put online, I was wondering if it would be useful to anyone if I took the map, had it redrawn to a size compatible with the site, and then added the details? It would take a long time, but I think it might be worth it. I know that I can get a better feeling for the smaller picture that I am investigating if I can see where it fits in the bigger picture.
