U.S. Army as occupation ,his social security no. >235-14-5188> Hi Sandi Criswell, I hope that you will not mind me writing to you. But you have a lot of information to get started. You can request your fathers miliary records, you have his SS# when born and died. You can also get his death cerificate from the Army. Go to your nearest V. A. hospital and ask for records, you can get his medical records as well. They will have you fill out a form to get copy of his medical records. and a paper to send to St. Louis Mo to find his miliary records. Or you can call the 1-800 number to the Veterans Admidastration (sp?) V. A. in your phone book and they might beable to help you to fine out more about your dad. And after you get those papers there should be clue who his parents were. let me know how you do. Any thing else I can do let me know. Sylia is a very nice person. Best Wishes, Gail Meeks ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com

    3. If the Littleton Lodge is still in existence, ask for the secretary, who ought to have records of ALL members ever in the lodge. Failing that, try the office of the WV State Grand Lodge, which may have such records, too. Can't help you with IOOF, but the process may be similar. 2. FRANK BURTON
    3. Hello The question was asked about Emily Burton. Her maiden name was Emily Ruegsegger. That name appears in genealogy with many spellings. In MONROE COUNTY OHIO, Genealogy Records by Catharine Fedorchak, I counted 14 different spellings used in various articles like census, deeds, wills, marriages, obits, etc. She was my grandmother. I remember her well. Welcome was a little settlement about where Kent is now. It once had a train station, Post Office, and a boat landing. She married Samuel Gatts Burton, had 8 children, as Peggy described. Samuel drove about the countryside and collected produce and crafts to sell at the store at Welcome, and to take to Wheeling to sell at his stall at the Wheeling Market. He would take the train and commute to the stall. When he had a large shipment, he would send it by boat. Emily and the kids keep the store and Post Office She taught school out on Burch Ridge before getting married. Married ladies were not permitted to teach, so when she married Sam, another teacher in Cameron, they had to take another job after the children began. Frank Burton

    3. Is there any way that we could just send our cemetery changes out to everyone on the list? I know that it would make my life simpler. I have several additions that need to be sent out, and I was thinking of sending them to everyone. It would save us all the time of sorting through each cemetery again and again to see if any changes have been made. Any objections? Christina

    1. QUIGLEY in KY/WVA
    2. Hi all! Can any one tell me IF and WHEN part of WVA was KY? Also what part it was. Here is my problem: John Maywood Quigley b. 1775 VA m. Mary Patterson b. 1777 VA I am unsure of place of birth or parents for either. They were married in Berkeley Co. on Nov. 3rd, 1796 by Minister John Boyd. Sometime after that they moved to KY. There were some Quigleys who had tax problems and moved to KY, but unsure if this was parents of John. Did he move with them????? His first two children were born in KY. John in 1800 and William in 1801. Then followed 4 children born in VA (WVA). Andrew in 1803, Jane in 1803, Hannah in 1805, and Anna Lisa in 1807. I am unsure if females lived long..... no records found yet. This family ended up in the Liberty District of Marshall Co. They are listed as early as the 1840 census. I don't know about earlier yet. I really need help on where to look! KY or WVA or VA ??? If I can find some parents of John in KY or WVA (VA) , then I may be able to shed some light on this. Also, I want to give a great big thanks to Linda Fluharty and Karen Hucko for all their help in my research so far. The Marshall Co. page is the greatest and the most informative I've found so far!!! Thanks to all who take time to check this out! (and those who have helped and I didn't mention!!) Sandy Martin

    3. I agree with Linda. When I found this website and the inventory of the cemeteries, I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. My sister and I had tramped through 'our' cemeteries years ago and have some info that I've still not added to the page, but it sure beats having to make a trip to WV and getting out on a cold rainy day like we have today. I worked my way through every list in the county (yes, it took quite a while) but it turned up my gg grandmother. I'm grateful to have such good stuff available.
