    2. Dawn
    3. In case someone is confused by all this sudden activity, yes, I am trying to clean up a bunch of loose ends in my database. I have a William GORBY who was born about 1874 in Marshall County to VP and Sarah GORBY. William married twice (as far as I know) once in about 1906 or and the other time, some time before that, as he had a child from the first marriage. He died in Brooke County, at some unspecified date. I know this isn't much help, but can someone please let me know who he married? Dawn. 1. GORBY (of course)
    2. Dawn
    3. I am showing Hannah (GORBY) ANGUISH in the 1850 census living with her husband David, and being all of 42 years old. Also in this household is her sister, Rebecca GORBY, also showing as being 42 years old. Are they twins???? Since they are in the same household, with the same age, I am inclined to think that. Also, my records show that these two are buried in Bowman Ridge, but I can't find them on a list. Do they really have tombstones? or are they in unmarked graves? I also show (Barbara) Jane (GORBY) CLARK and Anne (GORBY) SAMPSON as age 31 in 1850 and 40 in 1860. Are they twins? Again I have no idea where they were are buried. Please help!!! Dawn. 3. Hi Again Terry, Sorry, I'm a couple of days behind in reading my mail lists due to a computer club meeting yesterday. I didn't realize that you were so lacking in information about your father's family or the reasons why. I think this conversation should be kept on line to everyone, then people like Gail Meeks can offer the military information she knows and everyone else with knowledge can add to this conversation. In my last email I stated that I've not been able to tie John Ross into any of the other Criswell families. I assume since John Ross started a family in 1919, he was probably born in the 1890s, so I check the birth records, I submitted, which are listed in the Marshall Co GenWeb archives. A John D. b 1895 was a possiblilty, but I checked in other records and the D wasn't a R mistakenly read. Also he marrieds Irene Hall and had 3 children, but not the 3 you're interested in. The other possibility is a male born 1898 to James Alex Criswell & Nancy J. Syhock, But I have no other information on this family. And then of course there is a 3rd possibilty that John Ross's birth wasn't registered. Does anyone out there have any information on the family of James Alex Criswell & Nancy J. Syhock? Sylvia

    3. Hi Terry, I think your John Criswell is the Arthur J. I sent you who was born in 1919 and had a brother Forrest. The birth record info had his parents names, and I also gave you the sister's name. Have you contacted the county for a death record. More information would be on the death record. I have many Criswell families, but have been unable to connect the father of the 3 children Terry is lookling for to any of my Criswell families. Father is John Ross Criswell. Does anyone know who his paremnts were? Sylvia

    3. Hi SYLIA, Thanks for taking the time to e-mail me .I only have a little info too go on . John Criswell (my father) was born 1919 died 1988 .He listed Sgt. U.S. Army as occupation ,his social security no. 235-14-5188 . Brother Forrest is the only name I have & I'm not to sure about that. My mother mentioned a brother Forrest to me about 25 years ago Sylvia I never saw or talked t o my dad ,nor do I know any living relatives on my dads side. They split up about the time I was born.Mom never let me know about my dad,I always thought he died when I was pre-schooler.As a teen ,mom told me the marriage just did not work out. She did not know what happen to my dad.So my approach to was ;if he did not want to know me then I did not want to know him, never even tried.May be I was afraid too find out anything. But I'm 51 now,and all those questions are knocking around in my head.It seems strange too me that all these years i tried to forget what little i did know and now i just can not wait for the next door to open. thanks terry lee criswell P.S. Janice (Criswell) Griffin e-mailed me & told me how nice you are ...... thanks again tlc
